Description

Fiberon™ ASA-CF08 Black in 1.75 mm format combines ASA's legendary weather resistance with 8% carbon fiber reinforcement. This premium filament in deep black was specifically developed for demanding outdoor applications requiring both mechanical strength and UV protection. The carbon fiber reinforcement significantly increases stiffness – Young's modulus reaches an impressive 3611 MPa in the X-Y plane. With heat deflection resistance near 100 °C, this material excels for thermally stressed components. The matte, technical surface gives printed parts a professional appearance. Whether drone housings, automotive components, or weatherproof sensor mounts – ASA-CF08 delivers the durability needed for years of outdoor use.

Recommendations

For optimal results, we recommend a hardened steel or ruby nozzle, as carbon fibers quickly wear brass nozzles – lifespan is only about 9 hours. The filament is moisture-sensitive and should be stored below 20% relative humidity. Dry at 90 °C for 6 hours before printing. Print in well-ventilated areas or with an enclosed printer. Allow parts to cool slowly before removing from the build plate. Minimum filament bending radius is 60 mm. Note: Limited MMS compatibility – abrasive carbon fibers cause increased wear in multi-material system feeders.
