Description

The Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 by Polymaker is a high-performance carbon fiber reinforced filament in 1.75 mm format. This innovative material is based on long-chain PA612 copolyamide with 15% carbon fiber reinforcement, offering an exceptional combination of stiffness and dimensional stability. Thanks to the patented Warpfree™ technology, the material exhibits minimal warping during printing. Compared to conventional PA6/66 materials, PA612-CF15 features significantly lower moisture sensitivity, simplifying handling and storage. The deep black color gives printed objects a professional appearance. With a Young's modulus exceeding 5000 MPa in the X-Y direction, this filament is ideal for demanding technical components requiring maximum load-bearing capacity.

Recommendations

For optimal results, we recommend drying the filament at 100 °C for at least 10 hours before printing. An enclosed chamber is not required – room temperature is sufficient. Disable the part cooling fan for best layer adhesion. Use a hardened steel nozzle as the carbon fibers are abrasive. After printing, optional annealing at 100 °C for 16 hours can further improve mechanical properties. Note: The material is conditionally MMS-compatible – the abrasive carbon fibers may cause increased wear in the feeder.

FAQ

PA612-CF15 is based on long-chain copolyamide that absorbs significantly less moisture than PA6/66. This results in more stable printing properties and mechanical values that remain consistent even in humid conditions. It also offers better mechanical properties than PA12-based materials.
Yes, absolutely. The 15% carbon fiber content is highly abrasive to brass nozzles. We recommend a hardened steel nozzle or tungsten carbide nozzle to prevent premature wear.
Yes, although PA612 is less moisture-sensitive than PA6, we recommend drying at 100 °C for at least 10 hours. This ensures optimal print quality and maximum mechanical properties.
Conditionally. The material is abrasive and may cause increased wear in the multi-material system's feeder. For occasional use it's possible, but for frequent use we recommend direct drive.
No, thanks to Warpfree™ technology, PA612-CF15 can be printed at room temperature. The bed should be set to 40–50 °C, but an enclosed or heated chamber is not necessary.
