Description
Fiberon™ PET-GF15 from Polymaker is a high-performance industrial filament in 1.75 mm format, delivering exceptional mechanical properties through its 15% glass fiber reinforcement. This deep black material stands out with remarkable stiffness and dimensional stability, ideal for demanding technical applications. With a Young's modulus exceeding 4100 MPa and tensile strength approaching 60 MPa, this filament achieves values comparable to injection-molded parts. The glass fiber reinforcement significantly reduces warping and enables dimensional accuracy even on larger components. After optional annealing, heat deflection temperature rises above 87 °C, enabling use in thermally demanding environments. The material excels for functional parts, enclosures, and mechanical components that must withstand extreme loads.
Applications
- Heavy-duty enclosures for electronics and industrial applications
- Functional prototypes with near-production properties
- Structural components and brackets for mechanical engineering
- Precision jigs and mounting fixtures
- Heat-resistant components after annealing
- Replacement parts for mechanically stressed applications
- Drone frames and UAV components
Recommendations
For optimal results with Fiberon™ PET-GF15, we recommend using a wear-resistant nozzle made of hardened steel or ruby, as brass nozzles show significant wear after approximately 9 hours of printing. The material is moisture-sensitive and should always be stored below 20% relative humidity. Annealing is not required if temperature resistance below 80 °C is sufficient. For parts with bridges longer than 3 cm, anneal together with supports. Limited MMS compatibility due to the abrasive glass fibers causing increased feeder wear.
