Description
Fiberon™ PET-GF15 from Polymaker is a high-performance glass fiber reinforced filament in 1.75 mm format, combining outstanding mechanical properties with excellent temperature resistance. The 15% glass fiber reinforcement provides the material with impressive stiffness featuring a tensile modulus exceeding 4100 MPa and tensile strength of nearly 60 MPa. In a subtle light grey, this technical filament represents the ideal choice for demanding functional parts. After annealing, the material achieves heat deflection temperatures up to 133.7 °C, qualifying it for thermally stressed applications. The crystalline structure ensures dimensional stability and chemical resistance. Designers and engineers value Fiberon™ PET-GF15 for prototypes that must withstand real-world loads.
Applications
- Functional prototypes under high mechanical loads
- Housings and covers for electronic components
- Motor mounts and structural parts
- Heat-resistant jigs and tool holders
- Replacement parts for machinery and equipment
- Automotive interior components
- Industrial brackets and fixtures
Recommendations
For optimal results, we recommend a wear-resistant nozzle made of hardened steel or with ruby insert, as glass fibers quickly wear down brass nozzles. The filament should be dried at 100 °C for 10 hours and stored below 20% relative humidity. Disable cooling. For applications above 80 °C, annealing at 120 °C for 16 hours is recommended – place the part with supports and build plate directly in the oven. Slight colour lightening after annealing is normal. Limited MMS compatibility: abrasive glass fibers cause increased wear in multi-material system feeders.
