Description

The Panchroma™ PLA Silk Silver from Polymaker combines easy printability with a premium silky finish. This high-quality filament in 1.75 mm format gives your prints an elegant silver surface with a characteristic shimmer reminiscent of brushed metal. The Silk variant creates a subtle sheen that reflects light in a unique way.

PLA is the ideal material for beginners and experienced makers alike. It prints virtually odourless, requires no enclosure, and forgives minor setting errors. With the Panchroma™ series, you'll enter a world of creative possibilities – from the Chromaverse straight to your print bed.

The silver Silk surface is perfect for decorative objects, trophies, figurines, and architectural models. Also excellent for cosplay armour and refined gift items.

Recommendations

For optimal Silk effects, we recommend printing at higher temperatures (210–230 °C) with moderate speeds. Larger layer heights accentuate the silky sheen. Post-processing is rarely needed – the shine emerges directly from printing. For older spools, drying at 55 °C for 6 hours is recommended.

This filament is fully compatible with multi-material systems such as Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU – ideal for multicolour projects with metallic accents.

FAQ

For the best silky sheen, we recommend temperatures between 210–230 °C and moderate speeds up to 300 mm/s. Larger layer heights (0.2–0.3 mm) further accentuate the characteristic shine.
A heated bed is optional but improves adhesion. We recommend 25–60 °C for optimal results. The filament adheres well to glass or PEI surfaces even without heating.
PLA is not recommended for outdoor use as it is UV-sensitive and can deform above 50 °C. For outdoor applications, we recommend ASA or PETG.
Yes, the Panchroma™ PLA Silk Silver is fully compatible with Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU. It's ideal for multicolour prints with elegant metallic accents.
Fresh filament typically doesn't require drying. For older spools or if you notice symptoms like hissing or bubbles, we recommend drying at 55 °C for 6 hours.
