Description

Polymaker™ HT-PLA Brown in 1.75 mm format combines the easy printability of PLA with exceptional heat resistance. This high-temperature PLA in warm brown maintains its shape even at temperatures up to 150 °C without sagging or deformation. Unlike conventional PLA, no complex post-processing is required to achieve these remarkable properties. The earthy brown colour is perfect for wood-effect projects, architectural models, and technical components exposed to elevated temperatures. With print speeds up to 300 mm/s and multi-material system compatibility, complex projects can be completed efficiently. The material adheres excellently to PC and textured PEI build plates with minimal shrinkage and high dimensional accuracy.

Applications

  • Heat-resistant enclosures for electronics
  • Under-bonnet automotive components (up to 150 °C)
  • Technical prototypes with temperature requirements
  • Architectural models with natural wood appearance
  • Functional parts for household appliances
  • Lamp holders and lighting components
  • Industrial jigs and fixtures

Recommendations

For optimal results, print with cooling fan enabled on a textured PEI plate. Use adhesive if needed. Set retraction between 1–3 mm at 20–40 mm/s. For maximum heat resistance, anneal the finished part for 30 minutes at 80–90 °C – this increases heat deflection temperature to over 150 °C. For older filament, dry at 60 °C for 6 hours. This HT-PLA is fully compatible with multi-material systems including Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU.

FAQ

To achieve full heat resistance, the printed part must be annealed. Place it in an oven at 80–90 °C for 30 minutes. Without annealing, heat deflection temperature is approximately 58 °C.
Yes, HT-PLA prints just as easily as standard PLA. It doesn't require an enclosed chamber and can be printed with the cooling fan active. Nozzle temperature is slightly higher at 210–230 °C.
Yes, this HT-PLA is fully compatible with common multi-material systems including Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU.
With correct temperature (80–90 °C) and duration (30 minutes), warping is minimal. Measured shrinkage is approximately 0.88% in X-Y and 0.13% in Z direction.
Polymaker recommends PC plates or textured PEI surfaces. Glue stick can be used if needed for better adhesion. The heated bed should be set to 25–60 °C.
