Description

The Polymaker PolyFlex™ TPU-95A in vibrant orange is a highly flexible filament in 1.75 mm format, specifically engineered for desktop 3D printers. With a Shore hardness of 95A, it offers the perfect balance between flexibility and dimensional stability. This thermoplastic polyurethane can stretch to more than three times its original length while reliably returning to its initial shape.

The bright orange colour makes this filament ideal for highly visible functional parts such as protective cases, shock absorbers, or ergonomic grips. The excellent impact absorption and abrasion resistance ensure long-lasting print results. Thanks to its chemical resistance, the material is also suitable for industrial applications such as seals and flexible connecting elements.

Applications

  • Smartphone and tablet protective cases
  • Industrial seals and O-rings
  • Shock absorbers and vibration dampers
  • Flexible hinges and joints
  • Ergonomic tool handles
  • Tyres and wheels for RC models
  • Protective covers for sensitive components

Recommendations

For optimal print results, we recommend a direct drive extruder, as Bowden systems may cause feeding issues with flexible filaments. Reduce print speed and avoid excessive retraction. A heated print bed with BuildTak®, glass, or Blue Tape ensures excellent adhesion – PVA glue further improves bed adhesion.

Store the filament dry and dry it if necessary at 50–60 °C for 4–6 hours. TPU-95A is not compatible with multi-material systems (AMS, CFS) as its flexibility interferes with automatic filament changing.

FAQ

PolyFlex™ TPU-95A is suitable for most desktop 3D printers. It works particularly well with direct drive extruders, while Bowden systems may cause feeding issues due to the material's flexibility.
With a Shore hardness of 95A, the material offers rubber-like flexibility and can stretch to over 330% of its original length. It's more flexible than harder TPU variants but still stable enough for functional parts.
No, TPU-95A is not compatible with multi-material systems like AMS, CFS, or ACE due to its flexibility. The flexible material can interfere with automatic filament changing.
Polymaker recommends a print speed of 20–40 mm/s. Slower speeds improve print quality and prevent feeding issues with this flexible material.
TPU can absorb moisture, which leads to bubbles and poor print quality. If necessary, dry the filament at 50–60 °C for 4–6 hours and then store it in a dry environment.
