Description

The Polymaker PolyFlex™ TPU-95A in vibrant red is a highly flexible filament in 1.75 mm format, specifically engineered for desktop 3D printers. With a Shore hardness of 95A, this thermoplastic polyurethane offers the perfect balance between flexibility and dimensional stability. The material can stretch to over three times its original length while reliably returning to its initial shape. The bright red colour is perfect for eye-catching functional parts and prototypes. PolyFlex™ TPU-95A excels with excellent shock absorption and high abrasion resistance, making it ideal for mechanically stressed components. Whether protective cases, seals or flexible connecting elements – this filament masters demanding applications with ease. The chemical resistance enables use in industrial environments.

Applications

  • Protective cases for smartphones and electronic devices
  • Seals and O-rings for technical applications
  • Shock absorbers and vibration dampeners
  • Flexible hinges and joints
  • Tyres and wheels for RC models
  • Grip covers for tools
  • Medical orthoses and insoles

Recommendations

For optimal print results, we recommend a direct-drive extruder, as Bowden systems can cause feeding issues with flexible materials. Reduce print speed to 20–40 mm/s and disable retraction if possible or limit it to maximum 3 mm. BuildTak®, glass or Blue Tape with PVA/PVP glue work well as print surfaces. Parts can be post-processed with fine sandpaper if needed. Important: TPU is not compatible with multi-material systems like AMS or CFS due to its flexibility.

FAQ

For optimal results, we recommend a direct-drive extruder. Bowden systems can cause feeding issues with flexible materials as the soft filament may buckle in the tube.
No, TPU is not compatible with multi-material systems like AMS or CFS due to its high flexibility. The flexible material cannot be reliably transported in these automatic feeders.
The material can be stretched to over 330% of its original length and then returns to its initial shape. The Shore hardness of 95A provides a good balance between flexibility and dimensional stability.
We recommend a print speed of 20–40 mm/s. Slower printing prevents feeding issues and ensures better layer adhesion for this flexible material.
A heated bed is optional but improves adhesion. Temperatures between 25–60 °C are recommended. BuildTak®, glass or Blue Tape with PVA/PVP glue work well as print surfaces.
