Recommendations

Print PolyLite™ ASA in a well-ventilated environment or with an enclosure and exhaust filter. A heated print chamber significantly improves layer adhesion. Use BuildTak® or Magigoo for optimal bed adhesion. For complex geometries, we recommend PolyDissolve™ S2 as water-soluble support material. The surface can be smoothed with acetone and painted with standard paints. This filament is compatible with multi-material systems including Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU.

FAQ

ASA offers significantly improved UV resistance and weatherability compared to ABS. While ABS yellows and becomes brittle outdoors, ASA retains its colour and mechanical properties for many years. Both materials can be smoothed with acetone.
A closed print enclosure is recommended but not mandatory. It improves layer adhesion and reduces warping. More importantly, ensure good ventilation as ASA releases fumes during printing.
PolyLite™ ASA is designed for a lifespan of over 10 years outdoors. Thanks to its excellent UV resistance, the material won't fade and remains mechanically stable – ideal for garden, balcony, or automotive applications.
Polymaker recommends PolyDissolve™ S2 as water-soluble support material for ASA. It dissolves easily in water and leaves clean surfaces. Alternatively, ASA can also be printed with itself as support structure.
Yes, PolyLite™ ASA is compatible with all common multi-material systems including Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU. This allows you to create multicolour outdoor projects.
