Description

Polymaker PolyTerra™ PLA in Lava Red combines eco-conscious printing with striking aesthetics. This bioplastic filament in 1.75 mm format features an elegant matte finish that gives printed objects a premium, velvety surface. The intense red colour is reminiscent of molten lava and is perfect for decorative projects, figurines, and models with character.

PolyTerra™ PLA was designed from the ground up as the next generation of PLA, delivering an excellent balance of print quality, reliability, and ease of use. Even beginners achieve professional results right away. The material prints virtually odourless and without toxic fumes – ideal for home or office use. Thanks to its high detail accuracy, fine contours and delicate structures stand out beautifully, particularly in architectural models and cosplay props.

Applications

  • Decorative figurines and sculptures
  • Architectural models and display pieces
  • Cosplay props and accessories
  • Vases and home accessories
  • Prototypes and concept models
  • Educational materials

Recommendations

For optimal results, we recommend a nozzle temperature between 190 and 230 °C with active cooling. A heated bed is optional but improves adhesion on glass or BuildTak®. The matte finish looks great without post-processing – if needed, PLA can easily be sanded or painted. This filament is fully compatible with multi-material systems including Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU.

FAQ

A heated bed is optional but recommended. A temperature of 25–60 °C improves adhesion on glass or BuildTak®. Without a heated bed, Blue Tape works as a good alternative.
The matte surface is robust and suitable for everyday use. For heavily stressed parts, however, we recommend a protective coating or choosing another material like PETG.
Yes, this filament is fully compatible with Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU. It combines easily with other PLA colours.
Normally, no drying is needed. If you notice symptoms like hissing or bubbles, dry the filament at 40–50 °C for 4–6 hours.
PLA is not UV-resistant and deforms at higher temperatures. For outdoor applications, we recommend ASA or PETG, which are significantly more weather-resistant.
