Description

Polymaker PolyTerra™ PLA in Periwinkle combines sustainability with outstanding print quality. This bioplastic filament in the practical 1.75 mm format was designed from the ground up for the next generation of PLA printing. The charming periwinkle colour – a soft blue-violet reminiscent of the flower – features an elegant matte finish that highlights details without distracting reflections.

PolyTerra™ PLA excels through its ease of use, ideal for beginners and experienced users alike. The material produces virtually no odour during printing and doesn't require a heated bed. Thanks to its high precision, it creates detailed prototypes, intricate figurines, and attractive decorative objects. The matte surface gives printed parts a modern, professional appearance.

Recommendations

For optimal results, we recommend a print surface with BuildTak®, glass, or blue tape, optionally treated with glue stick or Magigoo. Keep the cooling fan on during printing. For complex geometries with overhangs exceeding 60°, use PolySupport™ or PolyDissolve™ S1 as support material. The matte surface sands and paints beautifully. PolyTerra™ PLA is compatible with multi-material systems including Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU.

FAQ

A heated bed is optional but recommended. PolyTerra™ PLA prints well at room temperature, but for best adhesion we recommend 25–60 °C. A good print surface like BuildTak® or glass with glue stick is more important than the heated bed.
The matte finish reduces light reflections and gives prints a modern, professional appearance. Layer lines are less visible, and the surface is excellent for post-processing including sanding and painting.
No, PLA is not UV-resistant and cannot withstand temperatures above 50 °C. For outdoor use, we recommend ASA or PETG. PolyTerra™ PLA is ideal for indoor applications, decoration, and prototypes.
Yes, PolyTerra™ PLA is fully compatible with common multi-material systems including Bambu AMS, Creality CFS, Anycubic ACE, and Prusa MMU. The consistent filament quality ensures reliable material changes.
Fresh spools typically don't need drying. If the filament has been stored open for extended periods or shows symptoms like hissing or bubbles during printing, we recommend drying for 4–6 hours at 40–50 °C.
